Verschiedene Teile der Walreste wurden auch f\u00fcr die Herstellung von leichtfertigen kosmetischen Produkten verwendet. Mit der Entdeckung von Erd\u00f6l, Gas und Elektrizit\u00e4t haben diese riesigen Meeress\u00e4ugetiere nach und nach ihre Bedeutung in der industriellen Welt verloren. Viele Arten konnten den uners\u00e4ttlichen Konsummarkt nicht \u00fcberstehen.
