Flamingos\u00a0are not resident in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/en\/valdes-peninsula-maps-tours-and-attractions-in-patagonia\/\"><strong>Peninsula Valdes<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0area, however, they nest in lakes in the Province of La Pampa.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-14097 size-full\" title=\"Saint Exupery Birds Island\" src=\"https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/saint_exupery_valdes.jpg\" alt=\"Saint Exupery Birds Island\" width=\"700\" height=\"198\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/saint_exupery_valdes.jpg 700w, https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/saint_exupery_valdes-300x85.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/saint_exupery_valdes-100x28.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Stopping at one of the signs and reading the information while observing the island it becomes evident how its shape could have easily inspired <strong>Saint Exupery<\/strong> in the creation of his book <strong><em>\u201cThe <\/em>Little<\/strong><em><strong> Prince\u201d.<\/strong><\/em> The drawing made in the first few pages of his book of the boa that swallowed an elephant is almost identical to the shape that is seen when observing the island from this perspective.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-755 size-full\" title=\"Birds of Peninsula Valdes - Patagonia Argentina\" src=\"https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/contraluz_gavita.jpg\" alt=\"Birds Island Penisula Valdes\" width=\"700\" height=\"465\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The different species of birds that nest and reproduce on <strong>Bird Island<\/strong> include the <b>Great Egret<\/b> (<i>Egretta alba<\/i>), <b>Black Crowned Night Heron<\/b> (<i>Nycticorax nycticorax<\/i>), <b>Kelp gull<\/b> (<i>Larus dominicanus<\/i>), <b>Rock Cormorant<\/b> (<i>Phalacrocorax magellanicus<\/i>), <b>Neotropic Cormorant<\/b> (<i>Phalacrocorax olivaceus<\/i>), <b>Chubut Steamer Duck<\/b> (<i>Tachyeres leucocephalus<\/i>), several species of <b>Terns <\/b>(<i>Sternas<\/i>) and some <b>Megallanic Penguins<\/b> (<i>Spheniscus magellanicus<\/i>).
