Here a small and well-maintained museum exhibits a general view of the region and a complete skeleton of a juvenile <a href=\"https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/en\/peninsula-valdes-right-whale-features-and-curiosities\/\"><b>Southern Right Whale<\/b><\/a>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_16947\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16947\" class=\"wp-image-16947 size-full\" title=\"Isthmus Ameguino Museum map of Peninsula Valdes\" src=\"https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/peninsula-valdes-museum-map.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"464\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/peninsula-valdes-museum-map.jpg 700w, https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/peninsula-valdes-museum-map-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/peninsula-valdes-museum-map-100x66.jpg 100w, https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/peninsula-valdes-museum-map-500x330.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-16947\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Isthmus Ameguino Museum map of Peninsula Valdes<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Passing the round-about and <strong>17.3 mi<\/strong>\u00a0<em>( 28 km )<\/em> further down the road is <a href=\"https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/en\/puerto-piramides-our-little-town-within-valdes-peninsula\/\"><b>Puerto Piramides<\/b><\/a>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The visitor\u2019s center lies on the Isthmus, the narrowest point separating the <b>Golfo San Jose<\/b> to the north from the <b>Golfo Nuevo<\/b> to the south and connecting <a href=\"https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/en\/valdes-peninsula-maps-tours-and-attractions-in-patagonia\/\"><b>Valdes Peninsula<\/b><\/a> to Continental mainland. Following the round-about and entering a well-maintained dirt road to the north is access to <b><a href=\"https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/en\/outdoor-adventure-puerto-piramides-valdes-peninsula-bird-island-peninsula-valdes-paradise-pearl\/\">\u201cBirds Island\u201d<\/a> observation point<\/b>, 5km from the Visitor\u2019s Center.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_16965\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16965\" class=\"wp-image-16965 size-full\" title=\"The same roundabout to go to the Birds Island\" src=\"https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/peninsula-valdes-sign.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"464\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/peninsula-valdes-sign.jpg 700w, https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/peninsula-valdes-sign-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/peninsula-valdes-sign-100x66.jpg 100w, https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/peninsula-valdes-sign-500x330.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-16965\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The same roundabout to go to the Birds Island<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Different videos are shown in the multi-media room, graphically explaining the different aspects of the <b>Valdes Peninsula<\/b>. Other installations include taxidermy birds and detailed graphics of <b>fossils<\/b>, fish and the fauna in general that are found in the peninsula. Outside, an observation tower provides an excellent space for contemplating the immense <b>Patagonian Steppe<\/b>. Along the side of the visitor\u2019s center, a walkway invites you through an interpretive path for a better understanding and identification of the diverse and interesting flora which to the inexperienced eye, look the same and are easily confused, being short and relatively uniform in color. For this reason, one should drive cautiously and pay special attention.
