As is normal with the tidal flux almost everywhere, there will be two high tides and two low tides in the 24 hours that make up a day. The times and levels of the tides vary greatly throughout the peninsula.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The flow of the incoming and outgoing tides is slightly over 6 hours between high and low and depending on the tidal cycle there will be a stationary period of approximately 30 minutes between each shift in the flow.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_20227\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-20227\" class=\"wp-image-20227 size-full\" title=\"Low tide of Peninsula Valdes\" src=\"https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/peninsula-valdes-mareas.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/peninsula-valdes-mareas.jpg 700w, https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/peninsula-valdes-mareas-300x154.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ecohosteria.com.ar\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/peninsula-valdes-mareas-100x51.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-20227\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Low tide of Peninsula Valdes<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In the <b>Valdes Peninsula<\/b> the tide levels are more than notable, reaching a difference of more than <strong>16 ft<\/strong>\u00a0<em>( 5 m )<\/em> in the <b>Golfo Nuevo<\/b> and up to more than <strong>26 ft<\/strong> <em>( 8 m )<\/em> in the <b>Golfo San Jose<\/b> and on the eastern coast along open-ocean.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Keeping this in mind and the fact that there will be 2 periods of high tide and two periods of the low tide each day, it is amazing to observe the changes in the coastal geography.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>In places like the <b>Riacho San Jose Estuary<\/b> at the western extreme of the Golfo San Jose, where a very low angle accompanies the beach into the sea, the tide can recede as much as two kilometers.
