Il se distingue facilement du li\u00e8vre d&rsquo;Europe par le marquage blanc pr\u00e8s de la queue et ses petites oreilles. Ils sont monogames et souvent plusieurs couples \u00e9l\u00e8vent et prot\u00e8gent leurs petits dans le m\u00eame terrier. L&rsquo;accouplement commence en juin et en juillet et, avec une p\u00e9riode de gestation de 3 mois, la prog\u00e9niture peut g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement \u00eatre vue \u00e0 la fin du mois de septembre ou en octobre dans la <strong>Pen\u00ednsule Vald\u00e9s<\/strong>. Une fois enceinte, la femme commencera la construction d\u2019un tunnel de 1 \u00e0 2 m\u00e8tres de long qui aboutira dans une grande chambre irr\u00e9guli\u00e8re. Une fois termin\u00e9e, elle n&rsquo;entrera plus dans la salle r\u00e9serv\u00e9e \u00e0 sa prog\u00e9niture qui commence \u00e0 pa\u00eetre 6 semaines apr\u00e8s la naissance.
