A Gaivota com capuz marrom<\/strong> (Larus maculipennis)<\/em> recebe esse nome por uma raz\u00e3o \u00f3bvia. Com cerca de 35 cm<\/strong> de altura, esta ave tem uma cabe\u00e7a castanho-escura distinta, combinada com plumagem branca e cinzenta sobre o resto do corpo e plumagem escura nas pontas das asas e penas da cauda. Seu bico, p\u00e9s e pernas s\u00e3o vermelhos. De acordo com o guia da Patag\u00f4nia Costeira P\u00e1ssaro<\/a> e Mam\u00edfero<\/strong>, escrito por Guillermo Harris<\/em>, a Gaivota de Capuz Marrom<\/strong> pode ser encontrada durante todo o ano em toda a Pen\u00ednsula Vald\u00e9s<\/strong><\/a>. O comportamento de cortejo e acasalamento come\u00e7a em outubro, os pintinhos eclodir\u00e3o em novembro e abandonar\u00e3o seu ninho em fevereiro.
